Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Office Manager/Bookkeeper to join our team. This role combines financial management with administrative oversight, ensuring smooth operations and accurate financial reporting for our cooperative. The ideal candidate will handle payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and assist with financial reporting while maintaining smooth office operations and fostering positive relationships with our producers and vendors. Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management: Prepare payroll for all employees, including handling all related paperwork and new hire documentation.
Financial Processes: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including monitoring and reconciling bank account balances and petty cash accounts.
Financial Reporting: Assist with annual audits by providing necessary financial reports and documentation.
Office Administration: Manage day-to-day office operations, including inventory of office supplies, vendor management, and supervision of office personnel.
Contract Management: Communicate with growers and cotton merchants regarding contract options.
Documentation: Develop and maintain a centralized filing system, including managing archives and vendor files.
Collaboration: Work with the General Manager to promote the value of Petersburg Coop Gin and support the cooperative's objectives.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
Attitude: Demonstrates a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
Educational Background: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and other financial metrics.
Reasoning Ability: Capable of applying common sense to follow instructions and handle problems involving multiple variables.
