Cotton Division
Duties: The Cotton Division shall be composed of directors representing cotton gins, cotton oil mills, cotton warehouses, and cotton marketing associations. The members of this division shall review the activities of the Council relating to the cotton industry. The division will review and monitor educational, member relations, legislative and governmental activities of the Council and shall make recommendations to the various committees through their representatives on these committees. It will also review and recommend additions and changes in the Council’s policy resolutions affecting the cotton industry. The committee will review the Council’s dues structure of the various cotton membership divisions and shall recommend changes in those structures to the Executive Committee.
Allied and Grain Division
Duties: This Division shall be composed of directors representing local and regional grain and rice cooperatives and rice and grain marketing associations. It also includes directors representing supply, sugar, dairy, citrus, chemical and other various local and regional cooperatives. The members of this division shall review the activities of the Council relating to multiple industries. The division will review and monitor the educational, member relations, and legislative and governmental relations activities of the Council and shall make recommendations to these committees. It shall also review and recommend additions and changes in the Council’s policy resolutions affecting its industries. The committee will review the Council’s dues structure of their representatives and shall recommend changes in those structures to the Executive Committee.
Services Division
Duties: The Services Division shall be composed of directors representing farm credit, rural electric, rural telephone, academia, and insurance. The members of this division shall review the activities of the Council relating to the various cooperative service organizations. The division will review and monitor the educational, member relations, and legislative and governmental relations activities of the Council and shall make recommendations to the various committees through their representatives on these committees. It shall also review and recommend additions and changes in the Council’s policy resolutions affecting the service industry. The division will review the Council’s dues structures of various service membership divisions and shall recommend changes in those structures to the Executive Committee.
Legislative and Governmental Affairs Commitee
Duties: This committee will maintain a continuing watch on national, state, and local legislation affecting cooperatives, their members, and of agricultural interest and concern. It will advise the Officers and Board of Directors on programs it should undertake, acts it should perform, and policies it should adopt in all areas of its field of action. The committee shall also work at improving and promoting the Council’s image and effectiveness with legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.
Education and Member Services
Duties: The function of this committee will be to guide the Officers and Board of Directors in various educational and member services of the Council. It will study all aspects of the various educational, information, and public relations needs of the association’s membership and shall advise the Officers and Board of Directors on the programs it should undertake, acts it should perform, and services it should offer to serve the educational and member service needs of the Council’s membership.
